Eyebrows

Microblading is a form of tattoo artistry where pigment is implanted under your skin. You could use a manual handheld tool or a machine for this treatment. We don’t go as deep into the skin as a regular tattoo but you could still consider it a tattoo as the pigment is still implanted under the skin.

Does Microblading ruin your brows? No, although this is a very delicate process make sure to do your research in your artist to make sure they have the proper training and experience. Without formal training, they can severely damage the eyebrow root and the skin area.

PLEASE SEND A CLEAR PHOTO OF YOUR OLD TATTOO FRONT ON AND WITH GOOD LIGHTING PRIOR TO BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT SO WE CAN DETERMINE WHICH TREATMENT WILL BE BEST FOR YOU!

Note: Your old tattoo must be quite faded in order to achieve good results with a cover-up. Going over an old tattoo that is very saturated or has an extremely bad shape will give you disappointing results, so it is best to do Removal on the old tattoo first, before getting a new tattoo done.

If we are covering up an old tattoo previously done by another artist, please come with realistic expectations of what is possible to achieve. If the former tattoo is extremely uneven, dramatic in shape, or very dark, we may not be able to achieve your exact desired shape, symmetry, or color.

For Microblading: Any hairstrokes done within the old tattoo may blend in and will not be as crisp, giving an appearance of unevenness in color and the old tattoo will still show through the new hairstrokes. Therefore, specifications on an exact color after healed is not guaranteed. If there is a build up of scar tissue, the strokes may not hold as well in those areas. If you want to correct the color of your old tattoo (that has faded to red/orange/blue/gray) so it doesn’t end up showing between the hairstrokes, color correcting can be an option by shading in the area with a color correcting pigment. Hairstrokes will still not be as crisp with color correcting. Please keep in mind that the pigments we use are semi permanent and do fade over time which means that the color of your old tattoo will still be there as our pigment fades. You will need touch-ups regularly to maintain a neutralized color. Powder brows may be a better option for your cover up and we can decide at your appointment what will work best for you.

For Powder Brows, Lips, and Eyeliner: If you are choosing a different color than the old tattoo, it may result in a 2 toned effect. Therefore, we must color correct the old pigment to try and blend in the new color. Color correcting will not make a dark tattoo much lighter, we can only adjust the tone of the old tattoo to warmer or cooler. Specific color requests are not guaranteed depending on the color of the old tattoo. Of course, doing Removal first will give you better results. Removal can NOT be done on old eyeliner tattoos.

For optimum results, Removal is always the best option to achieve the shape and color you want. Please visit our Removal page under Services for more info.

All options will be discussed during the consultation, and tattooing will not start until the final design is agreed upon.

Immediately after:
Your new tattoo will be quite bold and feel tender.

Next Day:
The tattoo will appear darker and more red as your scabs begin to form

Next few days:
The scab will develop and turn darker making it appear thicker than it originally was.
Day 5-14 (depending on your skin):
Scabs will slowly flake off and reveal a muted foggy milky color underneath.

During the scabbing phase, you may not get the area wet for too long, sweat heavily, wear makeup on the area, or anything that would cause the scabs to lift off prematurely.

Week 2-6:
Your skin will go through several color changes and make the pigment appear very dull. The pigment will slowly become more vibrant and true to tone once the skin is fully healed at 6 weeks. It is not the pigment that changes colour, it is your skin changing colour while it is healing from the wound. You must avoid sun exposure for at least 4 weeks before and after your appointments.

Please see review the entire Aftercare and plan your schedule accordingly

You will be able to get them wet because you must clean the area regularly. BUT you must avoid getting the area wet for prolonged periods of time. This will cause the scabs to get soggy and lift off which will increase the chance of scarring and loss of pigment. When you get them wet, you must pat them dry immediately to avoid complications and undesired results such as patchiness, scar tissue, and uneven pigment.

You must avoid sweating in that area for at least 10 days. Salt draws out pigment and you will be left with undesirable results.

We use a topical anesthetic with 5% Lidocaine for numbing before and throughout the procedure for maximum comfort as pain tolerance will vary from person to person. Some say it feels like threading or scratching, while others feel more sensitive.

If you require something stronger, you may purchase Emla at a pharmacy and we can apply that for you at your appointment.

You may also take 1-2 Extra strength Tylenol (NOT ADVIL) 30 minutes before your appointment.

It also helps if you make sure to eat before your appointment so your blood sugar is leveled.

  • All needles and hand tools are single-use, come in a sterilized package, and disposed of after each client.

  • Gloves are worn at all times during the procedure and disposed of after each client.
  • All stations are thoroughly disinfected with Caviwipes after each client

The first appointment is about structure, design, and building a layer of layer of pigment for a very natural look and a more defined shape.
In a lot of cases, only a minor touch-up is necessary to fill in areas that may not have healed properly.

To keep a more subtle look, some do choose to skip having a touch-up appointment after the first session.

If you are opting for a bolder, more filled-in look, or need more layering for dimension, then a touch-up is recommended to layer more pigment into your skin

Some may need a 3rd session to complete the process. Especially if you have little to no hair to begin with, have scar tissue, oily skin type, didn’t follow aftercare properly, or we are trying to cover up an old tattoo.

After you have completed your perfecting sessions, it is recommended that you should wait until after one year to go over the area again. Even if it has faded before one year, you can fill in with makeup and wait at least a full year before coming back. Getting touch-ups too often, too soon is not good for your skin in the long run.

They do fade over time and should be refreshed every 1-3 years for maintenance. However, this does not mean that your semi-permanent makeup will completely disappear. Depending on your skin and health, overtime your semi-permanent makeup may still leave a soft haze of residual pigment behind. It is recommended to refresh them every 2-3 years and no sooner than 1 year. If they have faded before a year, you may fill them in with makeup and wait after 1 year to come back for additional touch-ups to avoid too much trauma to your skin.

These factors will cause your semi-permanent tattoo to fade faster:

  • Oily skin
  • Lightening / Brightening ingredients in skin care products
  • Iron deficiency
  • Sun exposure
  • Exfoliants
  • Strong immune systems
  • Exposure to salt water
  • Benzoyl Peroxide, Hydrogen Peroxide, Glycolic acid, Apple cider vinegar, Vitamin E and C, and retinols that can be found in Anti-aging / skin lightening/ skin brightening / acne products must be kept away from the tattooed area as continued use could deteriorate the pigment resulting in a bleached out color.
  • Wear Sunscreen!!! Exposure to the sun over time can cause premature fading and discoloration of the pigment. You can wear large sunglasses and a hat for further protection.
  • Rinse and dry the area thoroughly when in contact with chlorine or salt water.
  • If you are having laser resurfacing or laser hair removal after your tattoo has healed, please inform the laser technician. Continue at your own discretion. Laser procedures may darken, lighten, or discolor the tattooed area.
  • This treatment does fade after 1-3 years depending on your skin and lifestyle. Touch-ups will be necessary for maintenance.
  • If you are a smoker, have oily skin, an iron deficiency, or a very strong immune system, your pigment will not last as long as others.

Microblading works BEST on these types of skin:

  • Dry skin type with tiny pores. Skin that’s thin but not super thin (I like to compare this skin to a grape). This type of skin is usually not very sensitive with non-translucent fair ivory skin tone and doesn’t bleed easily.
  • Normal to combination skin-type with small pores can be abit oily to dry and sensitive or not sensitive (I like to compare this skin to an apple). This type of skin is usually non-translucent and can range from light to dark skin tones, young or mature skin and doesn’t bleed easily.
  • Normal to Oily skin with medium pores. Skin that is thicker and abit oily ( I like to compare this skin to a lime). This type of skin is usually non-translucent and can range from light to dark skin tones, young or mature skin and doesn’t bleed easily.

Microblading will NOT WORK WELL for these types of skin and should opt for Powder Brows instead:

  • Thick oily skin with large pores, tends to bleed easily (I like to compare this skin to an orange peel or grapefruit). The skin texture and constant production of oil will cause hair strokes to heal with a thicker diffused look and will not last as long as with Powder Brows.
  • Super-thin, soft, hypersensitive, skin with barely any upper skin layer that is crepey and lacking in collagen (I like to compare this type of skin to an over ripened tomato). Usually translucent tiny pores and can have rosacea or dermatitis. This type of skin bleeds VERY easily and has a harder time healing. Hair strokes will appear more ashy, blurred and patchy. Powder Brows will sit in this type skin a lot warmer and heal more evenly.
  • If you have an old tattoo that is still quite dark, the strokes will blend right into the old tattoo and results will not look as crisp as going over blank skin (see ” Can we cover up or remove my old tattoo done by another artist?”). If removal is not an option for you, Powder Brows may be a better option to cover up/ color correct/ blend in your old tattoo.

In General:

  • If you are a frequent smoker, your pigment may fade sooner.
  • If you are iron deficient or Anemic, your pigment may fade sooner and bleeding/bruising may occur during and after the procedure.
  • If you generally have unhealthy, problematic skin, bleed excessively, get infections easily, and do not heal well when cut or injured, you may want to reconsider having this procedure as the results are extremely dependant on the healing process.

Eyeliner

Your Eyeliner tattoo will last around 2-5 years depending on your skin and lifestyle. After that, it will start to fade. Touch-ups will be necessary for maintenance.

After your Eyeliner treatment, you should expect the following:

  • The area will be swollen, feel a bit tender, and will be quite dark and sharply defined.
  • The next day, it may appear reddish as scabs begin to form, then after that, the scabs will turn quite dark and make the tattoo appear thicker than before.
  • Depending on your skin, it takes anywhere from 7-14 days for scabbing to be over.

Do these steps before bed and in the morning until scabbing is over:

1. Rinse the area with warm water.

2. Pat dry with tissue or paper towel (do not rub).

3. Apply a very thin film of ointment. If it looks greasy, blot off with a tissue.

*Avoid getting the area wet while washing your face or in the shower. If it gets wet, pat dry right away!

Our Smokey Liner tattoo will give you the look of using a pencil eyeliner. It’s softer, without hard edges and can be customized to be as smokey as you want.

Lip Blush

Your Lip Blush tattoo will last anywhere from 2-5 years depending on your skin and lifestyle. Touch-ups will be necessary for maintenance.

For more info on the healing process, check out the aftercare by clicking here

You will need a Lip Blush touch up when the treated area is completely healed, any changes or additions that need to be made can be done with a touch-up appointment no sooner than 8 weeks later.

Results will vary with each individual and are extremely dependent on the health of your skin and how you heal. Therefore, please understand that all services are paid per session and non-refundable. Like with any beauty treatments, it may take several sessions to achieve desired results.

IMPORTANT: Please note that your tattoo will be very natural, much lighter and not as defined after healed. If you would like a more saturated colour, it will require several sessions to achieve this.

After your Lip Blush treatment you should expect:

●      The area will be swollen, feel a bit tender, and quite dark. In some cases, bruising may occur. And can bruise even after the procedure, do not worry, the bruising will go away within a few hours.

●      You may take an extra-strength Advil and apply ice (over a clean cloth) to help alleviate the swelling. Do NOT apply ice directly on the lips.

●      Clean the lips with a wet cotton or gauze or by rinsing with water every 30 min AND after eating until bedtime. It is very important to remove the lymph from the surface of the skin in order to avoid heavy scabbing.

Yes, you can still get Lip Blush if you have dark lips. But please send a clear photo of your lips before booking an appointment so we can see what is possible to achieve.

For dark lips your first session will require colour correcting which means we must tattoo an orange pigment to neutralize dark or cool toned lips. The orange will help heal your lips into a more nude tone. You can also expect your skin to go through many weird colour changes during the healing phase and at times appear darker or cooler than before. You must allow at least 6 weeks for your skin to fully heal for the true colour to be evident. Keep in mind that it is not the pigment that changes colour, it is your skin changing colour while it is healing from the wound.

  • If you have recently tanned this will affect the outcome of the healed colour.
  • If you’ve had laser removal of previous work done by someone else, the treated area has now more scar tissue and can affect the outcome of the result. More treatments may be necessary for your skin take the pigment.
  • Avoid exercising the day of procedure as this will open up the pores.
  • Please note that you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
  • Eating before your appointment will help with pain tolarance.
  • No waxing, threading or tinting 3 days before ( for eyebrows)

For Lip Blush:

  • You may NOT receive this treatment during an outbreak of cold sores. Please be aware that if you have the herpes simplex virus, you may awaken an outbreak following this treatment even if you have not had an outbreak before. To prevent or minimize such breakouts, please take Anti-herpes medication such as Zivorax 5 days before, then the day of. Then 5 days after or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist.
  • No injections 4 weeks before and after this treatment.
  • You will experience dry peeling lips for up to 2 week.

    • You must remove all lash extensions prior to this treatment
    • You must remove contact lenses for this treatment.
    • You may NOT receive this treatment if you have an eye infection or stye.
    • In rare cases, you may develop a histamine reaction and the area around your eyes will be very puffy and swollen. This is easily alleviated with an over-the-counter antihistamine medication.
    • Your vision is not affected by Eyeliner enhancements, but they might feel sensitive so you may wish to have someone drive you home.

For Eyebrows:

  • Botox should be done 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after the procedure.
  • If your natural eyebrows are dramatically uneven, you may have to give up a significant amount of your eyebrow hairs or choose a much thicker shape to achieve better symmetry. If those options are not desired and symmetry is not a concern for you, you may opt to tattoo over the natural flow of each eyebrow.
  • If we are covering up an old tattoo previously done by another artist, please come with realistic expectations of what is possible to achieve. If the former tattoo is extremely uneven or dramatic in shape, we may not be able to achieve your exact desired shape or symmetry. Any hairstrokes done within the old tattoo may blend in and will not be as crisp, giving an appearance of unevenness in color and the old tattoo will still show through the new hairstrokes. You may opt to do removal to achieve desired results.

All options best suited for you will be discussed during the consultation, and tattooing will not start until the final design is agreed upon. Therefore, please come prepared with an idea in mind of how you would like to design your eyebrows. Having pictures available will help us have a clear vision of what you are trying to achieve. We have the right to refuse service to anyone who is too unsure or indecisive about choosing a shape and a new consultation fee will be charged in order to rebook.

  • Rinse and dry the area thoroughly when in contact with chlorine or salt water.

Brow Lacquer works in a similar way to a lash lift. The process essentially involves straightening eyebrow hairs using a chemical solution, so that they all stand in the desired direction.

Lash Lift

Try your best to arrive without any eye-makeup and avoid oily products around the eye area. This will minimize the cleanup time during the appointment and allow more time for applying the lift and tint.

During this treatment, you will be lying down with your eyes closed on a spa bed. First, we shampoo and cleanse your lashes then apply a gel pad under your eyes with a skin-safe adhesive to protect your lower lashes. Next, the artist will apply a curved rod on your eyelid, this rod is essentially the mold for your lash curl. You will have 2 different lotion/creams applied to your top lashes that will hold the curl. After the lotion is wiped off the lashes you will have an option to get a tint applied which will darken the lashes. It’s a really relaxing, non-invasive treatment and most of our clients use the time to nap!

The tint will start to diminish within 2-3 weeks. The curl will last 6-8 weeks or until your eyelashes have naturally grown out.

Strong sunlight / UV light can make the tint fade faster.

We recommend for the first 24 hours you DO NOT shower, swim etc. but after that time period, you are allowed to continue regular activity.

Allow 24 hours before applying any product to your lashes. After 24 hours you may apply regular mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, or any type of makeup product you desire; it will not affect the lashes. However, NO WATERPROOF MASCARAS.

Results for ALL Tattoo Services

  • Although we use premium products and provide quality services, every client heals differently and many factors can lead to varied results. Results are extremely dependant on how one heals and will vary with each individual client.
  • Successful results and specific colour requests for tattoos are not guaranteed (especially on those with problematic skin and/or covering up an old tattoo) and additional sessions, at a minimum charge, may be required to obtain desired results.
  • All services provided are non-refundable.

Results for Eyebrows

  • Microblading is not an exact science to create completely identical brows on each side. It’s an art form to help simulate hair strokes to make your eyebrows appear fuller and more even. Different factors can lead to different results such as different bone structure and muscle movements, sleeping on your face or difference in hair growth on each side. It is important to have realistic expectations on what is possible to achieve.

Results for Lips

  • Make sure to exfoliate your lips before your appointment! Having dry lips will make them bleed more and your results won’t be as great.
  • Because of the nature of the skin on your lips, due to constent shedding you can expect 50-70% loss of pigment. Therefore, multiple sessions will be required for a more saturated look. Dark lips will also require more sessions as we need to neutralize your lip colour with an inital colour correcting session first. In some cases, dark lips will need more then one colour correcting session before we can implant the target colour. If you have dark lips please email us a clear photo before booking an appointment so we can see what is possible to achieve.

Results for SMP

  • We recommend 3 sessions of SMP for best results. Individual results may vary and some may require additional sessions.

Touch-ups

  • For all cosmetic tattoos, services are PAID PER SESSION and some may need multiple sessions to achieve desired results whether it may be to fill in gaps, create more density or saturation, changing the color or shape, etc.
  • Many different factors can lead to different results such as sun exposure or harsh ingredients in your skin care products, the physiology of your skin, health and lifestyle. Therefore, it is mandatory to read though all of the information provided in the FAQ section so you know what to expect and follow your AFTERCARE properly.
